You Really Only Need To Turn The Lights Off Once!

Whatever you choose to call anxiety obsessive-compulsive disorder it pretty much amounts to the same thing.

One of the things I learned during my SIX YEARS of anxiety and panic attack was that you only need to turn the lights off ONCE!

Because of the fact that I went around for years with an anxiety level of 5 to 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being a full one panic attack)(and “normal” people operating somewhere around 3) I became overly concerned with things normal people never think of.

My psychiatrist loved me. He was also a teacher and said that he used my stories in his class…anonymously, of course. THAT made me nervous!

I had several strange behaviors but perhaps the most revealing behavior was my vastly expanded “exit the house” routine.

I would go around the house and turn off all the lights. Then I would double check that. Then I’d check it again.

I would also make certain nothing was “hot”.

I checked the stove. I checked the iron. I check the hair curling device. (not mine!)

Then I rechecked them all.

I had no idea this was caused by my anxiety until later when I had mastered my panic attacks (in a totally natural way-no drugs).

You see, when I took over and banished panic attacks from my life, my generally heightened state of anxiety went down substantially.

Now I only had to check to make sure the door was locked a couple of times!  Before I would check the “lockup” 5 to 10 times.

I worried that the neighbors were sitting over there laughing at me.

But that’s past. I still have anxiety, but it’s so much more manageable, and at a lower level than before.

So what I’m telling you, from years of experience, is, YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!  it’s just that, for some people, certain things get out of control.

You are not stuck either. You can get your life back.

I found my way to beat panic attacks. It took me SIX YEARS!  It doesn’t have to go that way for you.

The way I “banished” panic attacks and chose not to fear them anymore has surprising parallels to the methods in J. Barry’s incredible program.
